How do I create a campaign?
We try to make the campaign creation process super quick, straightforward and simple. Watch this video for step-by-step instructions.
What information do you collect?
We only require donors to include their name and email when making a donation, no additional personal information is required. Softgiving doesn’t store any payment information and the only reason donors provide an email address is to receive a donation confirmation email and donation receipt.
What info do you share?
The only information shared with the individual running the charity stream is your username and the amount donated. Nonprofits do not receive any donor information, only the money you donate.
How do I receive a receipt?
You will receive a donation confirmation email from Softgiving shortly after completing your donation.
What do you charge?
Softgiving is the first charity streaming platform with a 0% platform fee -- this ensures that more money goes to charity! Read more about our new model here.
Where does my money go?
Donations are made through our partnered donor-advised fund, Givinga Foundation, who then distributes the funds directly to the nonprofit you assigned your donation to. Donors receive a confirmation receipt via email from Softgiving after each donation is completed.
Can I get a refund on my donation?
No, all donations are final.
How do I know if my nonprofit is supported?
With 1.5 million nonprofits supported by our partnered donor-advised fund, there’s a good chance your nonprofit is supported on our platform. Not seeing your preferred organization listed on our platform? Shoot us a note at firstname.lastname@example.org and our team will make sure it gets added to our platform.
What if my nonprofit isn’t supported?
Take a look Givinga Foundation's nonprofit directory here. If you don't see your nonprofit included in their list, email us at support@ softgiving.com and we'll look into it further.
How does my nonprofit sign up?
At Softgiving, nonprofits don’t need to signup directly with us in order to benefit from our campaigns. As long as your nonprofit is included in Givinga Foundation's directory (click here to check), individuals can fundraise for you. If you’re interested in learning more about a direct partnership with Softgiving, email email@example.com to learn more.
Do you support international nonprofits?
We currently support all nonprofits supported by Givinga Foundation. Click here to search their nonprofit directory.
Do you support international donations?
We want to make a global impact, which is why individuals from all over the world can make donations to important causes through PayPal.
Can a brand sponsor a charity stream?
Yes! We're currently BETA testing opportunities for brands to sponsor the charity streams that raise donations for nonprofits. To find out more about our qualifications for BETA participation, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
